Craft Studio Organization

Hey yall!!
I am going to share where I create all my homemade decor, gifts for family and friends and as well as things for my Etsy Shoppe! I am a visual person. That means I need to see something in order to be inspired. My studio is both visual stimulating as well as functional. I have to have pretty things I love around me to inspire me to make things I wanna create and give. So welcome to my craft room.

I put my desk in the middle of the room facing the door! I wanted to be able to watch TV and get into my craft things easily and fast! Because there isn't anything worse for a crafter than loosing a creative idea!
You can see my big GIANT chair my hubby gifted me with this Christmas. He thought that it would fit me perfect because he sat in it and it was so comfy but there is a problem with it. I look like a toddler sitting in a big recliner he is 6'4 and I am only 5'2. haha But anywho... back to my craft room. I placed a chair in front for guest or for my feet since they go numb hanging in the air lol.... thanks hubby! To the right of my desk I have all my tools in the dresser and on the left I have more tools and embellishments.

I have multiply uses for the things in my room like this vintage shopping cart. I use it for my art shows also but when not being used for that I use it to hold ribbon and paint brushes! Above the cart is some of my altered canvas!

A vintage milk crate turned paint brush holder.

All my ribbon. I like to dig because it inspires me and gives me more ideas. Plus it doesn't let me forget what all I have.

I like to organize my things into groups. Like ribbon in one place, paint brushes in one, tools in another, and paper in a big tub. Again I have to dig hence I know what I have.

I lucked out with this vintage dresser. I  have seen them go for close to $400 at antique shops. But I got this baby for $50! I added some $1 drawer pulls. In the dresser I have my tools.

In the top right drawer I have glue, tape, pencils, crayons, markers, pens, and hot glue.

In the other small top drawer I placed cutting utensils like scissors, trimmers, decorative scissors. Also placed hole punchers, heat gun, glue gun and any other tool!

In the second drawer I placed stamps, die cutting templates, and embossing files.

The last two drawers hold paint and stencils. Also my Colorbox inks, gold leafing, and watercolors.

On top of the dresser I placed a printers tray that holds all my little what-not items like loose keys, vintage bling, and other little things I have found.

On the turquoise wall shelf I added glitter, embossing powder, vintage ribbon, and jars filled with little things like eggs, feathers, and pearls.

These jars were given to me by my mom she had a vintage spice shelf full of these. She didn't want them just the shelf so she gave them to me! I love filling jars with things. Its all about visual to me!

My fave type of glitter is mica flakes and German glass glitter!

The shelf use to be white but I distressed it to my favorite colors turquoise and mustard yellow!

On my desk I have inks placed in a little bin with dividers!
I like to keep things I use the most at my finger tips.

Also in the bottom of my desk I have these vintage tackle boxes. The big one I got from hubby it was a side of the road find and the smaller one was a $5 find at a antique show. I haggle! NEVER EVER ACCEPT FULL PRICE! Haggle! If the antique booth vendor isn't there the sales clerk at the front desk will call them if you want to haggle the price! Try it!

On the two shelves to my left I placed my embellishments, sewing machine, Big Shot, and allot more items! I got these shelves on sale at Target for $20 I added legs from Lowes that I painted. On top of the shelves hubby found me a vintage gate for free! It holds all my special things that inspire me and never lets me forget that I do this to share what God gifted me with.. Talent to create!

On the shelves... I have jars full of flowers, buttons, and other treats.

A dish full of vintage ribbon and lace.

My jewelry boxes hold vintage jewels, jewelry making items, wood details, pearls, and a lot of little goodies. I love jewelry boxes not only do they have dividers but they keep the dust off my treasures! Plus it doesn't hurt that they are vintage and chic!

These Ikea boxes hold my chipboard letters. I need to finish decorating these boxes I have big plans for them.

I got these suitcases on sale a LONG time ago at Hobby Lobby for super cheap a couple of bucks per box. They hold my scrapbook items like letters, stickers, and embellishments.

I found this little wooden divider at a thrift store for a buck! It holds all my vintage items from pictures to tickets.

I love to decorate so where else would I put all my special stuff but in my craft room! It is where I spend allot of me time and where I know I can go to feel that I am loved and blessed! The walls are full of things from family! Like this vintage telephone box that I got for $5 I put pictures and gifts from my mom and grandma. The butterfly shadow box has butterfly magnets I use to play with on my grandmas fridge! I love looking around and seeing a little piece of memories from my life!

On the back of the door I have all my nephews art work they have given me. I love them with all my heart and they are HUGE part of my life how could they not have a place in my room! I also collect SHEart. It is so inspirational! The apron was made for me by another blog friend! The body form was a $1 yes a dollar! I got it from a closing antique store and everything was a buck! I got the suitcase from a garage sale! I made the wings from cardboard. I placed collected necklaces around the neck!

I had gotten a big bag of vintage gloves for a $1 the same day I got my body form! I didn't know what to do so I just hung them and am filing with things as I find them!

Other things around my room are vintage hat boxes. It all started with this one I found that had my hubby's name on it John and he is a Jr. haha so I had to get it! Then I found another one and another one! Its another reminder of someone special to me! I filled these with swap things like ATC books and art work that I bring out for the holiday they go with!

These bins hold vintage bingo cards, vintage books and pictures. I got these from Willow House it comes in a set of three! I want to order some more I love Willow House!

Last but not least my awful closet. After Christmas I haven't organized it back to original state so here it is in all its glory after the craziness of Christmas! I need to figure out how to organize my wrapping paper and things. On the shelves I place unused home decor. It is kinda like my own personal shop. The TV is placed in here when not being used and when I do use it I pull it out and plug it in. I hate it its so ugly but I need some background music or Lifetime going on while creating! In the bottom of the shelves are house hold tools like drills and hammers. I placed them in baskets.

On the other side of the closet I have craft things. In the plastic bin I have my fabric they are rolled and put into the three drawers by type the first drawer is material like cotton, the second drawer is tulle, netting and felt. The third drawer hold my burlap. The shelves hold my canvas, spray paint and can paint. The laundry basket on top of the plastic bin holds items to be altered. In the totes are things that are special to hubby and I from childhood that we hope to share with our kids one day! The bags on the floor hold my scrapbook things I grab when I go to a crop or friends house! On top of the closet I have my printers and Etsy shop stuff.

Well that was the tour! I hope this inspires you for some ideas on storage! I need to work on the closet but it still has a little bit of organization(as in things being in groups). I would love to see how yall organize things in your studio!

Toodles-
Sarah
